“We live in a world of materialistic pleasures, while engaging in behaviors contradictory to the life most people desire. My question is where do we place our hope? Who or what is your anchor through this journey in life? Personally, I struggled to find a place of peace. My desire for contentment and attained value derailed into cycles of living that delivered my womanhood into the hands of disgrace. My writing and poetry comes from a soul that has suffered much, yet the gain outweighs every strain.”

EXCERPT FROM “21ST CENTURY PSALMS FOR THE 21ST CENTURY WOMAN”

“Tears of a Woman”

The tears of a woman are colorful in emotion

Her tears fall as grief has hijacked her heart

Grief stricken from denied love

Days eager to love without limit

Her dreams, distinct images of the masterpiece conveying the profit quickened with possibilities

Riding the delicate waves of optimism, the adrenaline of the ideal life

Suddenly the waves become violent and uncontrollably fierce

Unable to manage she falls from grace, losing not only her stability but her hope

Drowning in loss, chocking on the fungal reality of her plight

Washed to shore she cries soaked in her failure

Failure to be accepted and loved as whole and worthy

Her heart now frozen from nonacceptance

Spears of resentment thrusts from her eyes, tears salty with indignation

Her face once beautiful adorned with the sweetness of her femininity

Now blank and unresponsive, vacant of belief

Untrusting and callous she walks in her inner shame

Stupor In her walk, she hears a call to her heart

“Look to the horizon” is faintly but clearly spoken to her soul

She lifts her saddened eyes to see Jesus standing between the clouds and the still waters

He stretches out His hand glorious in power

“Be not tearful, never lose hope”

“I created this horizon, thus I can surely create for you a new path”

“A path of love, honor, and prosperity”

“Come, take my counsel, and I will heal your salty tears”

“I have been waiting for you to listen as I have whispered to you much”

“I knew if I let you fall it would humble your ears to hear”

“I AM what you have been needing and seeking”

“I AM true love!”
